The Samuel Gompers Memorial located at the intersection of 10th Street, L Street, and Massachusetts Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C. Designed by Robert Aitken in 1933, the Beaux Arts sculpture is now owned by the National Park Service and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (*)

Robert Ingersoll AitkenThe bronze plaque, mounted on the base, reads: "In memory of the men of Parris Island who gave their lives in the World War, erected by their comrades."
