Joseph Marius Avy Jean, said Marius Avy, born September 21, 1871 in Marseille (Bouches du Rhône), died in 1939. French. Painter of genre, landscapes, wall decor, pastel artist, illustrator.
biography
Pupil of Bonnat and Maignan, he exhibited at the Salon of French artists in Paris from 1900 to 1941, and the National Exhibition of Fine Arts from 1934 to 1939. Price Bashkirtseff in 1900, second class medal in 1903, honorary degree in 1937, Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, and Croix de Guerre.
He married Germaine in 1909, the daughter of Albert Besnard. He will attend his father-in implementation of the paintings decorating the dome of the Petit Palais.
He often paints landscapes of Italy. Some of his compositions, such as White Balance, can be removed dynamically, painted in bands of contrasting colors. Among his decorations include the wedding room of City Hall Rotterdam1.
