Jean-Adrien Guignet (Annecy, 1816 - Paris, 1854) was a French painter of the nineteenth century.

Biography

Guignet Adrian grew up in the town of Autun, some landscapes and monuments (including ancient sites) will inspire. He was a friend of Hippolyte Michaud. Orientalist painter quite popular in its day, Guignet was recognized for these Egyptian scenes, as Cambyses and Psammenitus (circa 1811, Louvre), or Joseph explains the dreams of the Pharaoh (Museum of Fine Arts of Rouen), always with a taste for the exotic and mysterious landscapes.
