Gerard Houckgeest (ca. 1600 The Hague? – August 1661, Bergen op Zoom) was a Dutch Golden Age landscape painter. Groenewegen worked in The Hague (1625-1635), Delft (1635-1649), Steenbergen (1651-52) and Bergen op Zoom (1652-1669).[1] Some believe he spent some time in England as well.[2] He specialized in painting imaginary church interiors and renaissance buildings. Some of his works now reside at the Mauritshuis.[2] References 1. ^ Houckgeest, Gerard at the RKD databases Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/ ", Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License |
