Emanuel Pendl (born February 23, 1845 in Merano, † 28 September 1927 in Vienna) was an Austrian painter and sculptor with South Tyrolean roots (son of the sculptor Franz Pendl and grandson of Johann Baptist Pendl (1791 - 1859)). He is the father of Erwin Pendls.

Life and work
Pendl reportedly tried on 15 . August 1919, together with his seriously neurotic woman, committed suicide by inhaling gas [1] - reports of the incident, the Franciscan Pendl lost their lives were, however, the two sons Pendls to the press then corrects the effect that on the part of their father were not suicidal intention was to attribute to the inhalation of coal gas by the parent would be an attack of mental confusion. [2]
Emanuel Pendl was a student at the Vienna Academy [1], and has numerous monumental sculptures for the Vienna Ringstrasse created or with artistic jewelry provided (Justice Palace, Burgtheater, Parliament, University, City Hall) [1], but also in Graz (statues at the main building of the Karl- Franzens-University, as well as on the facade of City Hall) or in Merano (Andreas Hofer monument), there are important items from him.
Pendl, who lived near the Prater (Wehlistraße 226, Vienna-Leopold Town) [1], on 9 September 1927 on the outskirts of Praterstern knocked down by a road train of the line AK. The injuries resulted from the accident within three weeks to the death of the artist. [3]
Emanuel Pendl was buried in Vienna's central cemetery in a grave of honor in the city of Vienna to rest. [4]
