Adam Niklewicz is an American sculptor and illustrator (born in Zamosc, Poland) who earned his BFA in graphic communications in 1989 from Washington University in St. Louis, and his MFA in sculpture from SUNY Purchase in 2006. Niklewicz is the recipient of the International Sculpture Center’s 2006 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award [1] and the 2008 Artists Fellowship from the Connecticut Commission on Culture [2]. His work has been featured and discussed in the New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, Modern Painters, The Hartford Courant, and The Nation, and has shown at such venues as Grounds for Sculpture, Real Art Ways, the New Britain Museum of American Art, Black&White Gallery, Stamford Museum, Galerie fur Landschaftskunst, and Zacheta. As an illustrator he has published on the cover of Newsweek, Time,[1] Business Week, and Atlantic Monthly.[2] He has done book cover art for such publishers as Random House, Dell, Doubleday, Bantam, Harper Collins, Viking/Penguin, St. Martins Press, and William Morrow. Other clients include the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, Playboy, U.S. News & World Report, Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.
